When flowers are present, they seal it: small white stars under a quarter-inch across, with five petals split so deeply they look like ten, cupped by five green hairy sepals that are actually a bit longer than the white petals. With no flower, the combination of the switching hairline, the smooth opposite pointed leaves, and the stalked-to-stalkless leaf transition is enough to be certain.
